   Miramichi's Funeral Announcements - Ruth Marion Silliker

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ruth Marion (McKibbon) Silliker of Lyttleton, NB. Ruth was the wife of the late Carman Silliker and the daughter of the late Stanford and Emeline (Bryenton) McKibbon.

At a young age, Ruth began working at her parents’ General Store in Red Bank, NB and later worked at the former Rubenstein’s clothing store in Newcastle, NB. She was a member of the Miramichi River Baptist Church and the church choir for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing hymns, and preparing big meals for her beloved family.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters: Twila Gilmore (Dale Hamilton) of Miramichi, NB and Melanie Silliker of Douglastown, NB; three grandchildren: Carol Tozer, Matthew (Cara) Gilmore, and Ruth (Jordan) Ingraham; 13 great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Benjamin, Christina, Lincoln, and Cassandra Tozer; Samuel, William, and Gabriel Gilmore; and Madeline, Caedmon, Ainslie, Griffin and Alastair Ingraham; two sisters: Louise Small and Arlene Silliker; her brother Ned (Patsy) McKibbon; her sisters-in-law Anna Silliker and Carmel Silliker; niece Starlet; nephews: Sandy and Sonny; many other nieces and nephews; her special friend "like an extra daughter" Cynthia (Terry) Tozer.

Ruth is predeceased by her son-in-law George Gilmore; her sisters: Barbara Bruce, Elsie Taylor, Norma Young, Faye Jardine; and her brother Guy McKibbon.

The family will receive visitors at the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 4:00-5:45 PM, immediately followed by the funeral service at 6:00pm with Pastor Leslie Somers officiating. Private burial will be held at the Lyttleton Baptist Cemetery.
